In 1944 a children’s book club sent a volume about penguins to a 10-year-old girl, enclosing a card seeking her opinion.
She wrote, “This book gives me more information about penguins than I care to have.”
American diplomat Hugh Gibson called it the finest piece of literary criticism he had ever read.

uOTTAWA QUIDDITCH NOW SELLING OURSELVES
Now that I have your attention, I may have exaggerated.
Vote for our chaser Dan S. (the first option) in this Mugglenet cosplay and we will personally write you a limerick on a topic of your choosing!
http://www.mugglenet.com/intlhpcontest/index.shtml
Once you’ve voted, either reblog this or tweet @uo_quidditch with your desired limerick topic.
Dan is currently trailing by only 3% of the total votes!

Job hunting while learning the songs for my summer show and getting incredibly antsy.
Seriously considering going for a run or something but the sky is doing that whole angry looking, “I-will-thunderstorm-you-if-you-step-outside” sorta thing.

Photo by Tegan “Sexy Cactus” Bridge, uOttawa’s very own Colin Creevey. This was uOttawa Quidditch’s first season and we all fell in quove with the quidditch community! We managed to make an impression on the field, but it’s our off the pitch antics that really define us as a team. We became notorious at WCV for our snare drum-led marches to the pitch and pregame dance (dubbed the uOttawa Haka and pictured here). Some of our other memorable moments as a team include winning first place in our school’s blanket fort building competition, our epic snowball fights and bus trips with our big brother team Carleton Quidditch, and using our vast knowledge of HP pickup lines to shamelessly flirt with other teams via Twitter.
On behalf of uOttawa Quidditch, much quove and thanks to everyone for making our first season amazing and we’ll see you on the pitch next year!
c’est quamour!

The aftermath of the uOttawa snowball fight:
We built a snowman on the field then disassembled him, moved him to the crosswalk, and put him back together. His name was Dobby and he wanted to be a crossing guard when he grew up.
quadorable: this makes me think of Calvin and Hobbes
The best part of this day was that I woke up, checked my computer, and had been informed of a uOttawa Quidditch team snowball fight before I even had a chance to look outside and notice that it had snowed for the first time.
